Insecurity is a major problem for holding elections, but politicians also pose a danger.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said politicians are the “biggest problem” in the way elections are conducted in the country.
Ganduje said this on Wednesday when he met with the Director of Elections and Political Parties Monitoring at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Hawa Habib.
He said that while insecurity was a major problem for the conduct of elections, politicians also posed a danger. He said, “It is important for INEC to conduct this exercise for planning and record-keeping purposes so that it can ensure the survival of political parties in accordance with the law.”
“We know that one of INEC’s biggest problems in conducting elections is the deterioration of security. Everyone will say INEC, but it is politicians.
“So, the electoral rules and regulations To understand what it takes to be a civilized politician, our institutions educate the public from time to time so that they can abide by the rules, and that too.” will be digitized.
“I have also directed that officers be posted in all party offices, from districts to municipalities, zones and states.”
